About
Impulse Dance Company has recently opened on June of 2003 in the greater Seattle area, with the dream of performing and exposing others to a wide variety of dance styles.
The choreography fuses multicultural dance styles including hip hop, jazz, Latin, W. African, tap, and ballet. This diversity forms a unique style of dance only seen in IDC.
The company consists of professional dancers who perform in venues anywhere from school tours to theatre showcases.
Rhythm Revolution
Impulse Dance Company was proud to present their third profession showcase ever! Here they performed African, Hip Hop, Jazz, Modern, Latin, and more! Guest companies included Kontagious, Krystal Clear, Pacific West Performing Arts, Krystal Chaos, and Rated PG. Both nights were awesome with a full house on Saturday! This show took place at Carlson Theatre. Great job everyone!
In-House Sneak Peak
Wow! What a great performance at Kirkland Dance Center! Impulse performed jazz, hip hop, modern, and African. Many guest groups performed including Krystal Clear, Krystal Chaos, Rated PG, Kontagious, Westlake Performing Group, and Pacific West Performing Arts. We filled the house and had an extremely successful fundraiser! What a fun show!
Berlex Holiday Party
Impulse Dance Company was hired to perform for Berlex Company's holiday party. Impulse performed hip hop, jazz, modern, and Chinese for many many people. Not to mention, had a great view of Seattle!
Carnival in Los Angeles
Impulse Dance Company traveled to L.A. to perform with America's best hip hop dancers and choreographers! IDC performed at the Key Club on Sunset Blvd. with professionals such as Teresa Espinosa, Jayson Wright, Julianne Waters, Super Dave, Nolan Padilla, Swoop, and many more. Impulse got great reviews from the show such as "most energetic hip hop" and "most creative hip hop," in the show. IDC also got asked to return and weill be performing again in the spring of 2005. Impulse also trained at Edge Performing Arts Center and Millenium Dance Complex from professionals such as Teresa Espinosa, Eddie Garcia, Sky Hoffman, Kevin Maher, Michael Schwandt, Odee, Marty Kudelka, and Kennis.
360 Degrees
Impulse Dance Company performed lyrical and ballet as guest dancers for Aria Dance Company at the Knutzen Family Theatre. This show portrayed the cycle of life, from begining to end. Thanks Aria Dance Company for having us perform. It was a great show!
Rhythm Revelry
Impulse Dance Company guest performed for Kirkland Dance Center's production of Rhythm Revelry. IDC performed hip hop and lyrical for two shows. The shows were held at Cadle Theatre in Kirkland, Washington. What an awesome event!
Phyzical Graffitt-i Showcase
Impulse Dance Company danced along with popular hip hop crews including Phyzical Graffitt-i, Breed, Breaking Pointe, and more for PG's show Unrated. This show was entirely hip hop held at Shorecrest Theatre. IDC had a great time!
Celebrate Dance Festival in San Diego
Impulse Dance Company traveled to San Diego to perform in the Celebrate Dance Festival. Here IDC performed hip hop, jazz, African, and traditional Chinese. The crowd loved the show! What a fun trip it was.
Browns Point United Methodist Church
Impulse Dance Company guested for two African church services. IDC performed two African dances. The crowd was very entertained and enjoyed the show. What a fun opportunity!
6th Annual Hawai'i International Dance Festival
Impulse Dance Company joins many performers in Honolulu Oahu for Hawai'i's greatest dance festival. Here Impulse performed at the largest open air mall in the United States and in the largest theatre in Hawaii! The theatre seated more than 1500 seats! IDC also won the "Greatest Performance" for their dance Workin' It. IDC performed hip hop, jazz, tap, and African. What a great experience!
2004 Central Area Community Festival
Impulse Dance Company presents African, hip hop, and traditional Chinese at one of Seattle's finest festivals. The crowd went wild to IDC's upbeat energy. Impulse had a great time performing!
Impulse Goes International!
Impulse Dance Company traveled to the Gulf Islands to perform a one and a half hour professional showcase. IDC's show was part of the Saltspring Festival of the Arts. At the show, IDC performed hip hop, lyrical, modern, African, Latin, tap, and jazz. Impulse had a blast!
"Jack Block Park"
Impulse Dance Company performed at Jack Block Park near Alki for Performing Hearts. This organization is an agency who provides entertainment for disabled people. IDC performed a half an hour show of hip hop, African, and lyrical on a beautiful sunny pier. What a great experience!
"The Garden"
Impulse Dance Company was proud to be guest dancers in the 9th Avenue School of Dance annual recital, "The Garden". This show was at the 1100 seat Pantages Theatre in Tacoma. IDC performed African Light, an African dance with bright colors. Thanks 9th Avenue for having us.
Spring Feva: Down South
Impulse Dance Company presented its last showcase of the 1st season ever! The show was definitely a success. Dance styles ranged from hip hop, tap, jazz, West African, Latin, modern, Chinese, and ballet. Guest dancers included Aria Dance Company, SSS Company, and Da-Capo Dance Company. It was a blast for everyone.
Night Of Beats
Impulse Dance Company competed with some of Washingtons greatest hip hop dancers at SPU. The show consisted with dance competitions, rapping competitions, and comedy. It was a great night for all!
Lakewood International Festival
Impulse is excited to be performing in the Lakewood International Festival 2004 on May 1st! Here the company performed West African, Latin, jazz, and modern. There were a ton of screaming fans surrounding us. Not to mention we signed autographs to many excited fans when we finished.
Spring Feva: In The Eastside
Impulse Dance Company presented a new showcase entitled Spring Feva for a near full house at Carlson Theatre. This show included hip hop, West African, Latin, Traditional Chinese, modern, ballet, and lyrical. IDC did such a great job they received a standing ovation by everyone in the theatre! People from the audience quoted, "that was the best show ever," and "they had amazing energy!"
Tahoma Dance Team Showcase
Impulse Dance Company performed at the annual Tahoma Dance Team Showcase as guest performers. IDC performed five pieces including hip hop, African, and ballet. This show was highly energetic as multiple dance teams performed talented dances. What a wonderful experience!
World Rhythms Festival
Impulse Dance Company performed at the 12th Annual World Rhythm Festival in the Center House at the Seattle Center. Here people filled the commons while watching IDC perform African, Latin, Cuban, and Hip Hop. Impulse was well received after this performance.
Bringin' It Back
Impulse Dance Company was proud to present Bringin' It Back, there second showcase ever. This show represented previously viewed pieces as well as dances never seen before. Bringin' It Back included hip hop, tap, jazz, ballet, modern, West African, and Latin. Guests for this show included Aria Dance Company and Da-Capo Dance Company. This was a show well done!
Simply Dance
Impulse Dance Company performed as guest dancers in a Kirkland Dance Center production entitled Simply Dance at Kirkland Performance Center. IDC performed 5 dances including stomp, hip hop, Latin, and West African. The KDC dancers were great to dance with.
Washington Academy Of Performing Arts Showcase
Impulse Dance Company was proud to be guest performers for a Washington Academy Of Performing Art's Showcase, put on by their tap and jazz ensemble. IDC performed 4 hip hop, jazz, and West African pieces.
Pulse And Beat
Impulse Dance Company produced their own showcase entitled Pulse And Beat. In this show IDC performed 14 pieces, while guests including JerboA danCe, Tapuwa Dindato, Lisanna McDermott, and Mark "Biz" Burke performed 4. Together the dancers of IDC and guests put on a production full of hip hop, African, Latin, modern, jazz, stomp, and lyrical.
Beamer Breakdown
IDC loved guest performing at the Todd Beamer High School's dance team show. Here they presented West African Latin, Modern Jazz, and Tap to hundreds of people. The Beamer Breakdown was not only a great performance, but it was fun to dance along with a nationally competitive team.
Swingin' Party!
Impulse Dance Company had a great time as guest performers at a swingin' party in the Overlake Country Club. IDC danced along with a live band, performing two entertaining pieces.
Summer Dance Heat
Impulse Dance Company was pleased to be guest performers at Kirkland Dance Center's, "Summer Dance Heat," at Kirkland Performance Center. IDC danced in all three shows, performing West African, Modern Jazz, and Hip Hop. From this show, IDC successfully created their second demonstration video with the help of Tom a videographer.
Demonstration Video
Impulse Dance Company grouped with the 9AMPS video crew, Ludwing Suju and Brent Warwick, to create a demonstration video at the Knutzen Family Theatre. With only one hour for completion, the company and video crew finished with time to spare.
Myths Legends and Fairytales
Impulse Dance Company danced in their first performance as guest dancers for 9th Avenue School Of Dance's, "Myths Legends And Fairytales," in the Pantages Theatre. In this show, IDC performed a West African and Latin upbeat dance. It was an extremely fun venue as IDC's first gig.
