Chloe Davenport

Chloe teaches the following classes at 9th Avenue School of Dance:

  • Pre-Ballet/Tap
  • Ballet 1
  • Ballet 3
  • Modern 3
  • Creative Movement

Chloe has two dance educations. A BA in Dance form from UC Santa Barbara and a Teachers Certificate from the Rotterdam Dance Academy in the Netherlands. Since her teaching career started in 1994 she has taught children and adults of all ages in Germany, the Netherlands and the USA.

"Dance is important to me because it allows me to express myself in a physical way. Sometimes the joy and pain of life is much better dealt with, without words. In such a hectic world, focused on the accumulation of intellect, we loose touch with our physical, non-verbal intuition and all it can teach us about how to live a happy and peaceful life".

For Chloe, dance is her life discipline and keeps her in tune with the magic and miracle of life that is within us and all around us. "Bringing the joy and discipline of dance to others fulfills me more than any other career I could have chosen".

In the future, she plans to buy a house and have her own garden.

When referring to her favorite dance related event she mentioned that she does not like to pick favorites. However, the last show she saw that really inspired her was when David Dorfman's Modern Dance Company performed at the Boards in Seattle last year.

Her favorite foods include Sushi, home made baked goods and anything else you set in front of her. She also enjoys travel, photography, sewing, gardening and throwing parties.

Chloe loves the Puget Sound and being close to her extended family after traveling and living all over the world. She thinks that the floors are great, the paint job is "beautiful" especially the parts she did.

"The art and dance created at 9th Avenue School of Dance feeds me".
